Where do Cockroaches come from?
In more recent years Cockroaches date back as far as Greek times. In the UK the most common species of Cockroaches are The German Cockroach and the Oriental Cockroach; both have long-whip antennae with flat oval shaped bodies. Cockroaches have the ability to withstand very cold and very hot conditions this is why as a species they are so successful and hard to remove. The German Cockroach is light yellowy/brown 10 to 15mm in length. The Oriental Cockroach approximately twice the size dark brown/black and is 20 to 24mm in appearance. They both follow an in-complete insect life cycle which is the same as Bed bugs. German and Oriental Cockroaches have several different nymphal stages. Both species carry their eggs on their backs called an ootheca, they deposit the ootheca case 2 weeks before the nymphs emerge. They will lay their ootheca cases close to the desired food source.

Cockroaches will nest almost anywhere, and they like warm buildings. Cockroaches like to live and reside in heating ducts, boiler rooms, ventilation shafts and central heating systems on large buildings. Cockroaches tend to cluster most around hot and humid places such as: kitchen, bathrooms and back of warm white goods appliances. Cockroaches are commonly found in restaurants, takeaways, schools, hotels, hospitals and bakeries to name a few…as well as a well-used domestic kitchen that you might use at home.
How can Cockroaches harm me?
Now we know Cockroaches practically like to go everywhere inside a building, it’s important to know that every preventative measure should be followed to stop them. Cockroaches will die after a few days without water and they will practically eat anything potentially going months without any food. Cockroaches carry many different diseases and crawl across everything you can see and touch, they will contaminate your food sources resulting in food poisoning and dietary problems.

If Imagine how much bacteria there is on the floor; you certainly wouldn’t want that in your food! Not only are there health risk implications around cockroaches your reputation is heavily on the line with these beasties. Just say you are a restaurant or shop owner and a member of the public was to spot one of these roaches, that customer could quite easily report you to the environmental health who could then force closure until you have sorted the problem out. We cannot stress how important it is to treat cockroach outbreaks as early as possible.

The Best Cockroach Treatment in Bristol
Cockroaches are a hardy social species can be difficult to control at the best of times, we provide expertise and professional control. We know that multiple bait points is essential for a Cockroach treatment program. Fewer bait points would reduce the feeding patterns of the entire colony with more competition for the food. The larger members of the colony will dominate the main food sources so multiple bait points will overcome this problem. Cockroaches excrete a pheromone in their faeces and glands which they use to communicate familiarity of food and harbourage.
